Accidentally injected air — it's fine right?

Subq. Drew a tiny bubble I didn't see. Injected. Was mostly done before I noticed. About to panic but also I'm pretty sure this is fine for subq because it's not going into a vein. Someone tell me I'm not dying.

I did this on my very first injection and spiraled for an hour. It was fine. You're fine.

Co-signing hexaclinic. We're talking hundreds of mL of air IV before things get dicey. A bubble subq is not even on the radar.

Okay. Heart rate returning to normal. Thanks team.

You're fine. Subq air is almost entirely benign. You'd need a lot more air than a bubble, and it'd need to go into a vein, to be dangerous. Stop googling.

Sequel to this thread will be 'accidentally dosed 2x' which is the next right of passage.

I lurk these threads specifically to remind myself I'm not the only one who panics. Solidarity.

Locking-adjacent reminder: if you ever truly think something's medically wrong, call a doctor or urgent care, don't post on the internet first. We're happy to talk you down from a bubble but we're not your ER.
