Fine lines around eyes — is GHK-Cu actually doing anything or is this placebo
36 posts
4 months in on 0.1% GHK-Cu serum under eyes. I think the fine lines look softer but I'm honestly not sure if that's the peptide, the moisturizer I also started, or me staring at myself in better lighting. No before photos because I'm a fool.
What's realistic for this peptide at this concentration? Am I expecting too much in 4 months, or is this where most people plateau?

Realistic expectation: modest improvement in skin thickness and hydration over 8–16 weeks, visible fine line softening in some people, nothing dramatic. If you were expecting retinoid-level results you're on the wrong compound.

4 months is fine. You're not going to get more result at 12 months than you got at 6. If you're seeing anything at all, that's the effect.

Okay, so 'modest improvement' is where I am. Good to calibrate expectations.

GHK-Cu is a supporting actor, not a lead. It earns its place in a routine that also has retinoid and sunscreen, not as a standalone anti-aging tool.

Yeah the thing is you need retinoids to actually move the needle on fine lines. GHK-Cu is nice for skin barrier and collagen support but it's not going to erase anything on its own. That said, if you're already using a retinoid and sunscreen religiously then yeah it probably adds something, just don't expect it to be your star player. Most people who see real results are stacking it with other stuff, not running it solo.
