Selank for anxiety — timing and on-demand use
34 posts
Running Selank intranasal for situational anxiety (presentations, confrontational calls, flights). 600 mcg 30-45 min before the event. Doesn't feel like a benzo, doesn't feel like nothing. Closest analogy: the edge gets sanded off but my edge-case brain still works.
Questions for people using it:
- Daily baseline vs on-demand only — which way did you land?
- Does anyone notice a carry-over if they dose three days in a row? I swear my fourth-day baseline anxiety is lower even on a rest day.
- Anyone find a dose ceiling where it stops being anxiolytic and just becomes sedating?

On-demand only for me. Daily dosing blunted the effect within a week. The 'quiet edge' you described is the exact word I'd use. It's not suppressive, it's more like the volume knob moves down one click.

600 mcg is my sweet spot too. At 900 I get mild sedation, at 1200 I'm borderline drowsy. No anxiolytic benefit past ~750 for me.

To your 3rd-day carry-over — yes, I've noticed the same. Not sure if it's real pharmacology (TTKP is short-acting on paper) or a confidence loop where three 'easy' days stack psychologically.

I'd push back gently on on-demand benzo-analog framing even though you avoided it. Selank's anxiolytic mechanism is closer to GABA modulation via peptide intermediaries than direct GABA binding. The subjective 'it works fast' is real but the pharmacodynamics are weirder.

@reading_mode that's useful — the daily dose being lower than the acute dose makes sense if tolerance scales with AUC.

I run baseline (300 mcg AM daily) and find the effect persists better than on-demand did. Counter to what quietstorm said. Might be dose-dependent — at 600 I burned out, at 300 it's durable.

Remember the human data on Selank is almost entirely from Russian clinical groups tied to the original developers. External replication is thin. Doesn't mean it doesn't work, does mean calibrate your confidence.

Stacking with Semax AM + Selank PM — anyone do the inverse (Selank AM for calm focus, Semax PM for an afternoon lift)? Curious if order matters or if I'm overthinking it.

Selank PM for me wrecks sleep because I end up calmer but wired. AM only.
