Retatrutide log — stopping early, side effects (week 5)
26 posts
Starting a reta log. 45F, 5'4", 198 lb. Want to lose 45 lb. Have tried sema (worked but plateaued at 178) and tirz (worked but plateaued at 172). Going full experiment with reta.
Starting dose: 2mg/week. Plan to titrate by 1mg every 4 weeks.

Reta at 2mg hits harder than sema at 1mg or tirz at 5mg for most people. Titrate slower than you think.

Week 1: 195.2. Dropped 2.8 lb in a week which is more than I ever saw on the others. Nausea is real, about 48h.

Week 2: 191.0. Nausea stuck around longer than last week — more like 72h this time. Stomach cramping at 4am two nights in a row.

The 4am cramping is not a normal side effect profile. Consider dropping to 1mg.

Week 3: 188.1. Dropped to 1mg as suggested. Cramping gone after the lower dose, nausea back to mild.

RHR bump on reta is real for a minority. It's an off-target effect. If it doesn't come down this week I'd stop.

Week 4: 186.8. Heart rate elevated for a few days (Oura showing RHR jumped from 62 to 74). That freaked me out.

Week 5: RHR still 72. Not coming down. Stopping today. Down 11.2 lb in 5 weeks but this isn't worth messing with my cardiovascular system for. Will probably go back to tirz microdose for maintenance.

Making the right call. Posted early-stop logs are more valuable than a lot of successful ones.

Exactly the right call and thanks for posting it. This is what the 'stop criteria' question in the template is for.

Reta isn't for everyone. You'll probably do great on tirz micro for hold. Good luck.
