Cerebrolysin 20-day course log — cognitive post-concussion
29 posts
Post-concussion symptoms 6 months out from a bike crash — brain fog, word-finding, fatigue. Formal rehab done. Running a standard cerebrolysin course to see if it moves the needle.
Baseline:
- Self-rated brain fog 1-10: 6
- Word-finding issue episodes/day: 3-5
- Daily fatigue 1-10: 5.5
Stack:
- Cerebrolysin 5ml IM daily x 20 days
- 5 days on, 2 off, repeat
- No other new variables

Day 5: fog 5, word-finding 3, fatigue 5. Maybe? Injections are 5ml IM which is a lot, quad is sore.

Cerebrolysin post-concussion is one of the cleanest use cases for it. Keep logging.

Day 10: fog 4, word-finding 2, fatigue 4. Clear improvement. Coworkers noticed I'm more 'with it' this week.

Day 15: fog 3, word-finding 1, fatigue 4. Energy hasn't moved as much as cognition. Sleep also seems deeper.

The real test is whether it holds after the course. Please come back in a month.

Day 20 FINAL: fog 3, word-finding 0-1, fatigue 4. Ended course. Cognition significantly better, fatigue moderately better. Going to reassess in 4 weeks to see if it holds.

3 weeks post-course: fog 3.5, word-finding 1, fatigue 4. Holding so far. Will do a repeat course in 3 months per what my neurologist and I discussed.

Solid log but curious about one thing, did you change anything else during those 20 days? Diet, sleep schedule, rehab exercises, caffeine intake? Post-concussion recovery is weird because placebo can move the needle pretty hard on subjective stuff like brain fog. Not saying that's what happened here, just that without controlling for other variables it's tough to know if cerebrolysin did the heavy lifting or if it was 30% drug and 70% time plus other factors you weren't tracking.
