GHK-Cu — actual use cases beyond skin stuff
50 posts
GHK-Cu gets a lot of skincare buzz but the systemic use cases are less discussed. In the literature it shows up for wound healing, anti-fibrotic effects, hair regrowth, possibly inflammation modulation.
Anyone using GHK-Cu systemically (Sub-Q or IM) for: chronic inflammation, injury recovery, hair, or anti-aging? What doses and outcomes?
I'm considering adding 2mg 3x weekly Sub-Q to a recovery stack but the signal-to-noise on 'it works' is low on forums elsewhere.

I've used GHK-Cu locally for scar remodeling (post-surgical) with good results. Systemic I've tried once, no notable effect at 2mg 3x. Could have been too low a dose, I don't know.

GHK-Cu systemic is niche for good reason — most of the impressive effects are local/dermal. Systemic dose-response is poorly characterized. 2mg 3x weekly Sub-Q is a reasonable experimental dose but don't expect BPC-tier results.

Topical GHK-Cu on my achilles insertion (cream formulation) seemed to help more than systemic anything. Local delivery is where this compound shines.

Peri-lesional GHK-Cu injection during a rotator cuff rehab felt different — the tissue around the lesion seemed to 'settle' faster. Hard to quantify. For systemic anti-inflammatory goals I'd stick with BPC.

The systemic GHK-Cu data in humans is mostly from topical pharmacokinetic studies and in vitro work. Claims of 'systemic anti-aging effects' are extrapolations. Healthy skepticism warranted.

Fair. Gonna scale my experiment to topical peri-injury use only. Not going to chase systemic.

Has anyone used it for hair? I've seen the Pickart research cited for that.

@curious_catL topical for hair is a defensible use. Systemic for hair is not well-supported. Topical scalp applications with a quality carrier are where the hair use case lives.

Net: GHK-Cu is a local/topical tool. Systemic use case is weak. Good thread for keeping expectations calibrated.

Learning a lot from these 'calibrate your expectations' threads. Thanks all.

ran GHK-Cu subq for like 8 weeks at 2mg twice weekly. honestly felt nothing. no inflammation reduction, no noticeable recovery boost. the topical stuff on actual wounds seemed to do something but that's anecdotal as hell. saved my money after that and just stuck with what actually moves the needle for me.
