News: new GLP-1 class trial results
30 posts
Saw a headline this morning about a Phase 3 readout for a new dual-action GLP-1/GIP. 22% weight loss at 48 weeks. Not quite tirz numbers but close, and allegedly cleaner side effect profile.
Posting for discussion. Is this actually meaningful or is it the same compound with a new coat of paint?

22% at 48 weeks isn't quite matching reta's 24.2% at 48 but it's in the same ballpark. If the side effect claim holds up this could matter.

Read the whole paper, not the press release. 'Cleaner side effects' in pharma press releases usually means 'we excluded the people who dropped out.'

Exactly what glp1_doctor_pt said. The completer analysis always looks cleaner than the ITT. Wait for the full paper.

Watching closely. If this ends up cheaper than tirz it matters a lot for the people who still can't afford name-brand.

honestly the side effect thing is what im most skeptical about. every new compound claims to be "cleaner" but then you get on it and youre still dealing with nausea or whatever. think ill wait for people to actually run it before getting hyped. that said if the price point is actually lower id be interested to see the real world data once it hits.
