Microdose tirzepatide for recomp — not weight loss — 10 week log
36 posts
Not running tirz for weight loss. Running it at microdose because of metabolic benefits and appetite regulation for a lean bulk. 34M, 6'0", 186 lb, 12% bf.
Stack:
- Tirzepatide 1mg/week
- No other compounds
- 10 weeks
Goal: slow clean lean gain, measure whether microdose tirz improves body comp or hurts training.

Week 2: 187.1. Appetite modestly suppressed but I can still force calories. No nausea at 1mg. Training normal.

1mg is the sweet spot for this use case. Above 2.5 and you can't eat enough to bulk.

Week 4: 188.4. Waist 32" — same as baseline. Strength creeping up normally.

Week 7: 190.2. Waist 32.25". Clean gain. Finger-stick fasting glucose down to 81 from 92 at baseline.

That glucose drop is the interesting metric here. At microdose the metabolic benefit without the appetite nuke is legit.

Week 10 wrap: 192.0. Waist 32.5". +6 lb in 10 weeks at effectively no waist gain. Fasting glucose held at ~82. Training PRs on bench and squat. Holding tirz at 1mg/week for now.

This is a really underrated use of these compounds. Most people can't imagine using tirz if they don't need to lose weight.

Nice data. Worth noting the glucose benefit at microdose is real and well-documented.

ran a similar protocol last year minus the glucose tracking and honestly the recomp angle is way underrated. stayed leaner than a normal bulk but still hit strength PRs, waist actually went down .5" by week 8. the appetite suppression at 1mg is just enough to not be a problem on a lean bulk, unlike blasting it where you literally cant eat. only thing i'd say is make sure you're eating enough carbs around training or you'll feel flat, learned that the hard way week 3.
