Sourcing reta — what does the market look like right now
21 posts
Not asking for vendors. Asking about market conditions — has reta supply stabilized in the research chem channel? Six months ago every batch was a guessing game. Has HPLC availability caught up?

Not a sourcing thread. But meta-discussion of market conditions is fine. No vendor names, no DMs, no 'you know where.' That line gets enforced.

General read: supply is much better than 6 months ago, HPLC/mass-spec reports are more standard, price has come down ~35% since last summer. That's the market, do with it what you will.

Quality has bifurcated — the top-tier vendors are genuinely clean on third-party testing, the cheap stuff is still a crapshoot. Price is not a perfect signal but it correlates.

Is there a resource for reading third-party HPLC reports? I've seen them posted and I don't know what I'm looking at.

@bac_water_noob basic read: look for purity % (>97% ideal), absence of peaks at known impurity retention times, and that the mass-spec confirms the molecular weight. Separate thread in lab corner goes deep.

yeah but nobodys talking about the consistency issue. supply stabilized doesn't mean much if batch-to-batch variance is still 10-15%. did anyone actually run the same protocol on multiple batches from the "clean" sources to see if the dosing remained predictable? thats the real market condition nobody discusses
